In order to ensure your participation in the decision-making process and the development of government services, the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to develop policies & Regulations that allow you to participate electronically.
eParticipation Policy
The Kingdom of Bahrain’s government empowers government entities and affiliated sectors, enabling them to contribute to the implementation of services, policies, programs, and public initiatives. It enhances collaboration between government entities and citizens to stimulate innovation in government services in a more efficient and effective way, in line with the objectives of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.
The eParticipation policy (PDF, 280KB, 12 Pages) emphasizes the importance of the government's integrated approach in establishing, implementing, and updating the eParticipation framework. This helps achieve the Kingdom's vision of continued economic development and building a better life for every Bahraini citizen, while ensuring greater transparency, openness, and inclusivity in government operations.
Social media guidelines
The Kingdom of Bahrain has established a methodology for government entities to communicate with customers through the launch of a social media usage guide (Arabic only). This guide was developed in collaboration between the Ministry of Information, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), and the University of Bahrain (UoB). It provides guidelines on how government entities, employees, and senior officials should use social media tools to interact with the public.
Open Data Policy
The Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain recognizes the importance of data sharing as a cornerstone of transparency and accountability in governance and to achieve this, the Government is committed to publishing open data to foster collaboration among citizens, residents, visitors, and businesses. By empowering the public with access to data, the Government aims to stimulate innovation, address challenges, and ultimately improve the quality of life for all.
The Open Data Policy (PDF, 344KB, 16 pages) outlines the Government's strategic approach to making non-sensitive data more accessible and shareable. This significant step represents a milestone in the Kingdom's commercial and social development.
