Brief:

The Innovative Housing Solutions Lab Hackathon is an initiative aimed at bringing together creative Bahraini youth from various disciplines to work in teams and develop innovative solutions to improve the social housing sector in Bahrain. The hackathon is based on design thinking methodologies to create practical, applicable ideas that enhance the housing experience and meet citizens’ needs.

Goal:

To empower Bahraini youth to explore challenges in the housing sector and develop creative, sustainable solutions that enhance citizen experience and quality of life.

Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, Eskan Bank, Ministry of Youth Affairs (Arabic only), and  Institute of Public Administration.

Results

First Prize Winner

The "Lak Bayt" project: The project proposes a housing savings plan to promote financial awareness, improve quality of life, and support family stability.

Second Prize Winner

The "Bayti Assessment" project: A smart system integrated with the Bayti platform to help citizens make better housing decisions by offering comprehensive evaluations of properties and developers, along with smart comparisons between available options.

Third Prize Winner

The "Housing Flexibility for a Sustainable Future": A concept based on modular housing construction linked to the Bayti platform, enabling users to select suitable designs through artificial intelligence.
