National Employment Program

For individuals

  • Bahraini national aged 18 years and above.
  • Must be SIO registered post-employment, in a role relevant to the description in the application
  • Employed within six months from the time of application as per SIO records
  • Must be registered with and nominated by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development as a job seeker or have 0-12 months of formal work experience as per the Social Insurance Organization (SIO) records

For enterprises

  • Must have an active commercial registration from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism or a valid license from a government regulatory authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain
  • No active LMRA offenses or violations
  • Must be a micro, small, medium, or large sized enterprise as per the definitions set by Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism

Not eligible for receiving support through this program

  • Outsourcing companies seeking to obtain support for employees seconded to other entities
  • Employees that are wholly or partially supported by another entity are not eligible for support
  • Employees who have a second-degree relationship with the employer

The employee’s salary must meet the following minimum requirements

  • 300 BD for high school graduates
  • 450 BD for bachelor’s degree holders
  • 380 BD for diploma degree holders



Train and Grow

For individuals

  • Bahraini national employed in the company
  • For wage increment support: Bahraini national should have a minimum of one year experience
  • Must be SIO registered as a full-time or part-time employee in a role relevant to the description in the application

For enterprises

  • Must have an active commercial registration from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism or a valid license from a government regulatory authority in the Kingdom of Bahrain
  • Must be registered with the National Bureau for Revenue (NBR) (if eligible)

For enterprises the employee’s salary must meet the following minimum requirements

  • BD 300 for high school graduates
  • BD 450 for bachelor’s degree holders
  • BD 380 for diploma degree holders



Train Me

  • Bahraini national aged 18 years and above
  • Meet the requirements of the awarding body

Business Growth

  • You are a Bahrain-based enterprise holding an active CR or license and in operations for over two years
  • You can demonstrate YoY revenue growth or operating profit growth
  • You have audited financials for two consecutive years, not older than two years

Considering overseas market expansion? Your business must fulfill the following additional criteria

  • A minimum of 30% Bahraini ownership for overseas operations
  • Your business will not close its main Bahrain branch or move its headquarters overseas



Young Entrepreneur

  • Are a Bahraini national aged 16 to 25 years
  • Are a first-time entrepreneur with no active CR or virtual CR
  • You must be able to commit to the advisory program
  • Present high-level information of business idea



Go Digital

  • You are a Bahrain-based enterprise holding an active CR or license and in operations for over three years
  • Your business does not have activities of a Holding Company as a single activity
  • Your enterprise does not currently have any active applications with Tamkeen



Train and Place

  • Bahraini national aged 18 years and above
  • Currently unemployed
  • Must be registered in MOL as a job seeker



Start Your Business

  • You are a Bahrain-based enterprise holding an active or active without license CR and in operations for less than three years
  • Your business must not have previously defaulted on a loan facilitated by Tamkeen
  • You must not have activities of a Holding Company as a single activity



Innovation

  • You are a Bahrain-based business with an active CR or license
  • You must have an Innovation or R&D plan which is focused on technology
  • Your business must not have the activities of a Holding Company
  • Individuals: At application stage, individuals are allowed to apply but once the engagement starts, they need to establish a commercial entity (conditional approval / milestone set)
