Golden Residency Visa Issuance Request

Submit a request to issue Golden Residency Visa for the first time within the standards and regulations applied in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

Golden Residency Visa

  • Applicant is a retired individual who is a resident of the Kingdom of Bahrain or any other country worldwide earning a basic minimum pension income of BD 4,000, or
  • Applicant owns one or more properties in the Kingdom of Bahrain, provided the total value is a minimum of BD 200,000 from when the properties were purchased, or
  • Applicant is designated as a talented individual by a government agency or counterpart, or
  • Applicant is an employee working in the Kingdom of Bahrain, provided that the applicant has been residing in the country for a minimum of five years with an average salary exceeding BD 2,000 over the past five years, or
  • Applicant is a retired foreigner who has worked in the government or private sector for 15 or more years, with an average retirement pension exceeding BD 2,000 over the last five years of residency
  • Applicant holds valid health insurance upon issuance of the residence permit


Golden Residency Visa

For the foreign investor

  • A clear copy of the passport valid for more than 6 months
  • A clear copy of the ID card
  • A clear copy of the certificate of good conduct
  • A clear certified copy of a subscription letter confirming that he is an investor in a government-managed fund. And his share must not be less than (BD 200,000)
  • A clear copy of a valid health insurance certificate in the Kingdom of Bahrain
  • A clear copy of a six-month bank statement
  • A clear copy of previous residence (if applicable)

For a retired foreigner

  • A clear copy of a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months (attach a copy of the family information page and any other additional information)
  • A clear copy of the Identity Card
  • A clear copy of the Certificate of Good Conduct
  • A clear copy of a valid health insurance certificate in the Kingdom of Bahrain
  • A clear copy of proof of the applicant’s basic pension income, provided it is a minimum of BD 4,000
  • A clear copy of the previous residence permit (if available)
  • A clear copy of the applicant’s six-month bank statement
  • A copy of a medical report indicating the applicant is free from contagious diseases (less than 3 months from the application date)

For a foreigner who owns property in the Kingdom of Bahrain

  • A clear copy of a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months (attach a copy of the family information page and any other additional information)
  • A clear copy of the Identity Card
  • A clear copy of the Certificate of Good Conduct
  • A clear copy of the title deed proving the value of the properties owned by the foreigner is a minimum of BD 200,000
  • A clear copy of a valid health insurance certificate in the Kingdom of Bahrain
  • A clear copy of the applicant’s six-month bank statement
  • A clear copy of the previous residence permit (if any) in the case of new applications
  • A copy of a medical report indicating the applicant is free from contagious diseases (less than 3 months from the application date)

For a foreigner designated as a talented individual

  • A clear copy of a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months (attach a copy of the family information page and any other additional information)
  • A clear copy of the Certificate of Good Conduct
  • A clear copy of a certificate proving the applicant is a talented individual (such as an academic, athlete, entrepreneur, inventor, award-winning artist or author, or their counterparts)
  • A clear copy of a valid health insurance certificate in the Kingdom of Bahrain
  • A clear copy of the applicant’s six-month bank statement
  • A copy of a medical report indicating the applicant is free from contagious diseases (less than 3 months from the application date)
  • A clear copy of the Identity Card (if applicable)
  • A clear copy of the previous residence permit (if applicable)
  • Approval from an accredited business incubator in Bahrain (for entrepreneurs only)
  • PhD certificate (for academics only)
  • Higher education degree in one of the priority specializations determined by the Higher Education Council (for academics only)
  • A copy of the patent document (for patent owners only)

For a residing foreigner (employee or retiree)

  • A clear copy of a passport valid for a minimum of 6 months (attach a copy of the family information page and any other additional information)
  • A clear copy of the Identity Card
  • A clear copy of a certificate proving retirement status
  • A clear copy of the proof of the applicant’s basic salary, provided it is a minimum of BD 2,000
  • A clear copy of the applicant’s six-month bank statement
  • A clear copy of a valid health insurance certificate in the Kingdom of Bahrain
