Through this service, expatriate employees whose resident permits were not issued through LMRA and wish to work, can apply to obtain a work permit.

New Work Permit for Expatriates Authorized to Reside in the Kingdom of Bahrain

  • For professions that require a specific specialization (medical, educational and engineering professions), approval must be submitted from the concerned entity.
  • Expatriate’s ID card and residence permit will not be changed
  • The expatriate employee must have a minimum of 6 months validity in his/her resident permit.

  • Expatriate employee ID card, passport, and residence permit (Must be valid for at least 6 months)
  • Employment contract is optional (Provided that it contains Arabic language)
  • Approval letter/ no-objection certificate from the relevant authority for certain specialized occupations. (for example, teachers, doctors, engineers, designations in the banking sector)
