Social Assistance Services

These services, provided by the Ministry of Social Development, allow the citizens with low income to enquire about the status of the previously submitted social assistance application, update their contact details, and view the payment history of the social assistance.

Social Assistance Services

  • The applicant must be Bahraini
  • The applicant must be a permanent resident in the Kingdom of Bahrain
  • He/she does not have a capable relative who is obliged to spend on him/her, for which the applicant must bring a statement of non-spending to be able to exclude individuals
  • The electronic link must prove marital status, total monthly income less than the approved minimum basic life requirements
  • Prove the condition for disbursing social assistance according to official documents approved by the competent government agencies
  • holders of commercial records and licenses and those with high incomes from real estate are excluded from benefiting from social assistance
  • The resident in social or health care homes is exempted from enjoying social assistance according to this law, unless it is proven by research that he is someone who needs such assistance in providing some of his requirements that these homes cannot provide.


Social Assistance Services

  • Statement from the Public Prosecution issued by the Ministry of Interior stating that the head of the family is imprisoned for the category (prisoner’s family).
  • Death certificate of the father or the adoption court ruling for the category (orphan) - (the parents are unknown in the case of an orphan).
  • Fill in the social service application form
  • Original valid ID cards of the head of household and other members, depending on their social status.
  • Original bank document of the applicant including IBAN
  • Copy of the subscriber’s bill from the Electricity and Water Authority, to benefit from a discounted fee
  • Recent salary certificate or pension certificate (if any)
  • Certificate of divorce, court custody ruling, and the amount of alimony for the category (divorced with children)
  • Court ruling regarding desertion and alimony for the (abandoned women)
  • Death certificate of one or both parents or parents’ divorce certificate for the category (unmarried girls)
  • Parents’ divorce certificate, mother’s death certificate, or certificate of the father’s marriage to another for the (boy’s) category.
  • Proof of continuity of education (enrolment) for the (boy’s) category.
  • Medical report from a consultant identifying and confirming the type of disability or a disability that is approved by a government hospital in Bahrain for the category (disabled)/ (unable to work)
  • To apply for any of the categories that are entitled to social assistance, a statement of non-expenditure for working and never married children can be submitted, which is issued by the Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Waqf to consider the possibility of excluding them from the application for social assistance for the mother or the father.
